Connect Datawise to Tableau to surface Tableau workbooks as downstream assets in your lineage graph. When a schema change is detected, Datawise shows which Tableau workbooks are at risk.
Prerequisites
- Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud with a user that has Site Administrator Explorer role or higher.
- A Tableau personal access token (PAT). Recommended over username/password for stability.
- The host URL for your Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud site.
Create a Personal Access Token
- Click your profile icon and go to My Account Settings.
- Under Personal Access Tokens, click Create new token.
- Give it a name (e.g.,
datawise-token) and click Create.
- Copy the token name and token value. Both are required. The value is only shown once.
Connection Setup
Go to Connectors, click Add Connector, and select Tableau.
