Connect Datawise to Tableau to surface Tableau workbooks as downstream assets in your lineage graph. When a schema change is detected, Datawise shows which Tableau workbooks are at risk.

Prerequisites

  • Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud with a user that has Site Administrator Explorer role or higher.
  • A Tableau personal access token (PAT). Recommended over username/password for stability.
  • The host URL for your Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud site.

Create a Personal Access Token

  1. Click your profile icon and go to My Account Settings.
  2. Under Personal Access Tokens, click Create new token.
  3. Give it a name (e.g., datawise-token) and click Create.
  4. Copy the token name and token value. Both are required. The value is only shown once.

Connection Setup

Go to Connectors, click Add Connector, and select Tableau.
